Today Ola Electric Gen 3 Launched

Ola Electric Gen 3 A Revolutionary Leap in Electric Scooters: Ola Electric is gearing up to redefine the electric scooter landscape in India with the launch of its highly anticipated Gen 3 platform Today on January 31, 2025. This next-generation platform promises to deliver a significant upgrade over the Gen 2 models, offering enhanced performance, cutting-edge features, and a refined design. While the company has kept most details under wraps, the first Gen 3 scooter is expected to hit the market by March 2025, with the S1 range likely to be the first to adopt this advanced platform.

The Gen 3 platform is set to revolutionize the riding experience with its innovative engineering. At its heart lies an advanced battery system, now integrated into the scooter’s frame, which not only improves durability but also enhances impact resistance. A standout feature is the introduction of ‘Bharat Cells,’ a new, indigenously developed battery with a higher energy density than the current 2170 cells. This breakthrough promises to deliver a substantial boost in range and overall performance.

Powering the Gen 3 scooters is a completely redesigned motor, marking a shift from traditional permanent magnet motors to an advanced magnetized electrical coil design. This upgrade improves thermal efficiency, ensuring a quicker and more responsive ride. Additionally, the motor control unit (MCU) is now directly integrated into the motor, while the electric control units, MCU, and battery management system are consolidated into a single chip. This integration not only enhances efficiency but also results in a more compact and streamlined system.

In terms of design, the Gen 3 scooters are expected to retain the familiar Ola aesthetic but with structural refinements for better ergonomics and aesthetics. Feature-wise, the new models will come equipped with an upgraded TFT screen and a comprehensive software overhaul, offering a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.

The Gen 3 platform will also introduce two new series—S2 and S3—joining the existing S1 lineup. The S2 series will cater to diverse needs with three models: a long-range tourer, a city commuter, and a performance-focused variant. Meanwhile, the S3 series will target premium buyers with offerings like a maxi scooter and an adventure-focused model.

With its Gen 3 platform, Ola Electric is poised to set new benchmarks in the electric scooter segment, combining innovation, performance, and style to meet the evolving demands of Indian riders.
