Rice is an excellent source of essential nutrients like fiber, manganese, selenium, iron, copper, folate and niacin.
Actually, most of the people consume rice after cooking it. But there is a variety of rice which is more beneficial to eat without cooking.
The name of this variety of rice is Boka Saul. Boka means red or brown. At the same time, saul means rice.
This rice is special because it does not need to be cooked. Just keep it soaked in water for 30 to 35 minutes.
After this, take out the rice and eat it with curd or jaggery.
According to the Department of Biotechnology, Gauhati University, it contains 6.8% protein and 10.73% fiber.
Let us tell you that a small-sized egg weighing 38 grams contains about 4.9 grams of protein, which is less than the protein of rice.
It is also said that this rice helps in keeping the body cool. It also provides energy to the bodies of soldiers living at high altitude.
It is believed that in the 17th century, before the war with the Mughals, this rice was served to the Ahom soldiers for strength and energy.
